Helen started grooming at just 15 years old, accidentally while volunteering at a rescue centre. Not being able to resist sneaking into the salon on her lunch breaks and picking a brush, the groomer was more than willing to start training her up to be a groomer.
It wasn't before long Helen was perfecting her finishing touches on a westie and continued to groom for the following 5 years. After a career change of working in a bank for 10 years, Helen decided it was time to do what she had always dreamed of, setting up her own grooming salon.
Helen started off by converting her garage at home, after only 6 months Helen had outgrown her garage and struggled to cope with the demand for grooming. Helen realised that there was a shortage of groomers in the area so expanded her dream business into an independent salon in town, making the way for more groomers to assist her in pampering all the pooches. We are a reliable and friendly team of professionals dedicated to excellence, we are used and trusted by Vets and have an outstanding reputation.
All our staff are fully qualified in their chosen fields and all are First Aid qualified. Training is continued ensuring that we are kept up to date with all the latest styles and trends, dabbing into a little Asian Fusion and creative styling to add a little WOW factor to your pets!! We have a boutique where we stock beautiful items from pyjamas to pretty dresses, raincoats, jumpers, winter coats and much much more, we are official stockists of Urban Pup collections!
